  • (…) On arrival to the start point of the base of Table Mountain we met our guide for the next 5 days Chris. This guy was the South African Ray Mears, kitted out to the max and ready to show 7 hanging sailors what the mountains had to offer. After a very brief introduction he asked if we were ready….
… After a rewarding but hard slog up Table Mountain we were treated to some amazing views simple breath taking, and worth the effort to get there to witness these sights…
…Day three was a scorcher which made for a great day walking the team powered on learning all the trail had to offer from our great guide Chris. We reached the top of Chapman’s Peak and were blown away with the views; it felt like we were on top of the world…

… AT Tequila was a once in a life time experience and can not be summed up in a few paragraphs nor does it need to be, the real experience and feelings are with the 7 fateful souls and one trek leader Chris, only to be told over an open fire and glass of wine. AT Tequila 2011 was and will forever be an amazing adventure.

  • Table Mountain hike was a great adventure, I experienced with my friend in December 2012 in South Africa. We walked Hoerikwaggo trek, guided by Christopher Smith. We started from Cape Town and finished at Cape Point on Cape of Good Hope, spending 3 nights in tented camps of SANParks.

Christopher not only guided us through but also was a great companion of the adventure, sharing with us his knowledge and passion about Table Mountain in various dimensions: geological, floral, historical and social. We would not be able to experience as much without him in a such a short period of time.

Last but not least he helped us to feel safe and comfortable, starting from organizing a pick up from the airport in Cape Town, assisting in shopping for the trek, organizing porting so that we did not have to carry our backpacks and lots of other little things which made our walk a fantastic holiday.

    Thank you Christopher! Well done

  • We had a wonderful two-day-trek on the Table Mountain with Chris. He told us a lot of interesting things about the mountain, the plants and wildlife and knows the name of every flower! We saw a lot of birds of prey, even a peregrine falcon, and a klipspringer!

Thank you Chris for the great hiking, we really enjoyed it. Next time we will certainly ask you to explore some other part of the Cape with us!

  • Chris introduced us to a rainy Table mountain august 2013. His enthusiasm and his flexibility and creativity in making new plans took the edge off the disappointment in the bad weather. The hikes that we could do were a wonderfull experience. His love of nature nourished his knowledge of the plants, birds and animals, which he shared enthusiastically with us.
Thank you very much, Chris!! next time we hope to be able to say goodbye and thank you properly.

  • We have come across one of the best hiking guides.

We describe Christopher Smith as a very passive man, very knowledgeable, honesty, and one amazing guide.

We completed the Hoerikwaggo trek, guided by Christopher. This hike was an amazing experience which was all made possible by our wonderful guide. In addition, Christopher’s love for plants, hiking and discussion made this a wonderful hike to remember.

We thank you dearly Christopher for you wonderful guidance and awesome guiding experience.

  • I had a very nice Table Mountain experience with Chris:

It was a very hot day (37°C) and the Table Mountain was really hard… but Chris made it easier: every 10 minutes took a rest in order to explain something about plants, animals or even Cape Town / South African history…

Even he arranged a tour for me from my hotel to the airport through the Cape of Good Hope.

Thank you very much Chris and hope to see you soon

  • We have had a real great experience being on Table Mountain for two days with Chris as our guide.
His enthusiasme for plants, animals and South Africa is vey nice and during the whole two days he shares this with you. He knows very well to give the information, but also leave sufficient space to enjoy together.
And most importantly we had a lot of fun and found even some Orchids Chris has not seen before.
We have slept overnight at the Overseers cottage with a beautiful view over Cape Town during night, and beautiful sunset and sunrise.

Thanks again Chris for this beautiful trip and great guidance.

  • You always do the right thing. God Bless you.

  • We just finished 3 wonderful days hiking on table mountain, Cracs of Tranquility and Cape Hope, natural parc with Christopher. It was amazing and breath taking. We saw so much beauty pointed out to us. Christopher is very knowledgeable about the flowers and animals that are to be seen. Tablemountain is his home, and we were very happy he shared the best places and features with us. It felt safe, intimate and a lot of fun! Thank you Christopher and good luch with your enterprise.
