Table Mountain Upper Contour Path
Table Mountain Upper Contour Path
We start to the right of the lower cable way station following the trail up to the upper contour path. The tourist in the cable car waving as it goes by. You will immediately be greeted by precious Fynbos thriving in its natural environment and the Rock Hyraxes which is better known to locals as the “Dassie” darting in and out of the rocky crevices. This trail runs along the front face of Table Mountain and offers breath taking views of the City Bowl and the Atlantic Seaboard. This hike is really good for less experienced hikers (beginner’s) and best enjoyed on clear days. There is also the Breakfast rock looking out over the horizon, this makes for a brilliant lunch stop and be sure to bring along a pair of Binoculars. The trail ends at the Platteklip stream.
